Vintage Mother's Day Setting

While I was at my Mom's, I decided to set up a Mother's Day table.  I raided her garage for my Grandmother's Hoosier cabinet, and used my Mom's prized possesions, her Lady Head Vases for the table.  So much fun setting this up, especially to honor my Mom and Grandmother, on the farm where they grew up!

Easter Treat Table

I was going through all my Easter decorations,(which is not much and alot of it doesn't coordinate) to try to pull together an Easter Treat Table.  The treats are all inexpensive, and make an easy last minute table setting.





I had old Easter boxes, I drilled holes in the top to make
a lollipop holder.



 

Little Debbie "Spring" Krispy Treats, I cut these in half,
you can also dip the end in chocolate and add sprinkles.

Here are pics from our Asian Party - Harajuku Style - for my daughter's 12th birthday.  I got alot of my ideas from Restless Risa's Blog, this party was so cute, I had to find a way to adapt it for my tween.

Enter....the Harajuku twist.  I sent pictures to each of the guests of how teenagers in Japan dress in the Harajuku district.  It was so much fun, seeing what the girls came up with to wear!  Our first craft, was making funky hats to embellish their "loud" outfits.

The decorations consisted of parasols, japenese lanterns, cherry blossoms, and butterflies.   I made all the custom printables.

The food was really inexpensive, got it all from the Dollar Store, swedish fish, rice krispie treats and swiss cake rolls.  I cut fruit roll ups to wrap around the krispie treats.  I found fortune cookies at the grocery store, and dipped those in white chocolate.  This was soooo quick and easy!

The cupcakes were AWESOME!!  Sarah Watkins of Sweet Sarah's Cakes in Clemmons did a remarkable job! They were all too cute to eat!  She made each one look like the guests.

Below is a Candy Shoppe I styled for our elementary school staff celebrating Valentine's Day.  The staff went home with a yummy bag of treats!

Peace, Love & Flip Flops

Surprise Birthday Party for my 11 year old.  Peace, Love & Flip Flop Theme - held at a local hotel that had 2 indoor waterslides.

The invitation...

I got all the peace signs at Michael's, they were in the Teacher section.
They were stickers, so I peeled off the front and sprinkled with glitter.

Water Bottle Labels

I made this cupcake stand with cardboard cake rounds, ribbon hot glued
to the edges, and for the dividers, covered soup cans with scrapbook paper.
The blue hearts and peace signs on the cupcakes, are chocolate.
I piped them on wax paper and put them on the cupcakes when they hardened.

Nutter Butter Flip Flops - Piped on Chocolate and added a
Flower sprinkle.

Peace and Love Suckers.

Favors, peace tattoos, suckers, flip flop soap and flower flip flops. 
I made the flowers and anchored them with cross stitch thread.

Warhol Art Party

For my youngest daughter's 8th birthday, she wanted an Art Party.  I came up with a "warhol" inspired party, where we asked her guests to bring can's of Campbell Soup to donate to our local food pantry instead of gifts.

They splatter painted canvases, made miniature clothespin dolls, drew self portraits, painted with their feet, streaked color in their hair and colored Warhol prints.

I followed these instructions, the girls had a great time
picking out their fabric, and accessories when assembling them.
I got my inspiration from this fabulous party at Sweet Craft Cakes.
